In addition to iOS, updates for macOS, iPadOS, and watchOS were also released. The initial iOS 27 update, introduced two weeks ago, included enhancements like Siri AI and other advanced features in apps such as Photos, Camera, Safari, and Messages; however, it also brought along bugs.
One of the issues caused unresponsiveness of the touchscreen when users opened both Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously, which Apple has now resolved in iOS 27.0.1. The update also addresses a bug that could lead the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to restart unexpectedly when Face ID failed to authenticate.
Moreover, it fixes a camera issue affecting a limited number of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max devices. Under certain lighting conditions, photos taken at 2x with the camera’s f/1.48 aperture exhibited an unwanted color artifact.
According to Apple’s release notes, this update includes the following fixes:
- The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may restart unexpectedly when Face ID fails.
- A color artifact may appear in photos shots at 2x under specific lighting conditions.
- The touchscreen may become unresponsive when opening Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously.
The updates for macOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1 were also rolled out on Monday, both categorized merely as bug-fix updates without specified details.
To install the latest updates, iPhone and iPad users can navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. macOS users can also access the update through their device’s settings, while watchOS updates can be downloaded using the Watch app on a paired iPhone.
