Kayla Barron from Richland is set to return to space in 2027 as the commander of the SpaceX Crew-14 mission. NASA announced that she will be part of Expedition 75 and 76 aboard the International Space Station. This mission marks the 14th crew rotation with SpaceX and will focus on conducting scientific investigations and testing new technologies for future exploration of the Moon and Mars. Barron previously participated in the Crew-3 mission to the International Space Station in 2021.
