Owners of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in the UAE and Saudi Arabia can install the update using the usual method: by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update. The update file is smaller than previous iterations, making it quick to download and install.
User reports had indicated that the Face ID issue resulted in the device freezing or restarting when trying to access protected applications like Wallet or Passwords. However, it did not affect the Lock Screen unlock feature. Tbreak also highlighted Apple's acknowledgment of the need for a software fix.
In addition to the Face ID fix, iOS 27.0.1 addresses two other significant problems. It resolves a “color artifact” issue in photos taken with the iPhone 18 Pro's 2x zoom and fixes a problem where the screen became unresponsive when users attempted to access the Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously.
Apple also released security updates for older devices on the same day, including iOS 26.7.1 and iPadOS 26.7.1. These updates aim to fix vulnerabilities that could allow malicious code execution. Apple warns that some attackers have exploited these vulnerabilities against individuals using older operating systems.
For users of older Apple devices, upgrading to the latest software version is advised to ensure security. Users can update their devices through the same Settings menu.
Regarding pricing, as of now, the iPhone 18 Pro 256GB is available for approximately AED 5,099 in the UAE and SAR 5,699 in Saudi Arabia, while the 512GB model is priced around AED 5,949. Availability and prices may vary, particularly in Egypt.
