Vivo Launches X500 Series with Advanced Camera Technology

Both Pro models feature a 50-megapixel main camera utilizing Sony’s Type 1/1.28 Lytia 910 image sensor, which was introduced in June. This sensor delivers nearly 17 stops of dynamic range through LOFIC technology, enhancing photo quality by improving light management.

LOFIC, which stands for Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor, enhances light handling by retaining excess photoelectric charge, ultimately providing better image quality and a wider dynamic range.

While both the X500 Pro and Pro Max come with a 24mm equivalent f/1.57 lens with Zeiss T* coating, the stabilization systems differ. The Pro Max features “gimbal-grade” stabilization, which is superior to that of the Pro.

Additionally, the X500 Pro is equipped with an 85mm telephoto lens paired with a 64-megapixel Sony Lytia 610 sensor. The Pro Max, on the other hand, offers a more advanced 200-megapixel 85mm camera that utilizes an ISOCELL HP0 sensor. Both models can be enhanced with a Zeiss Telephoto Extender, allowing an equivalent focal length of 400mm.

Regarding wide-angle and video capabilities, both models possess a 50-megapixel, 15mm wide-angle lens featuring a Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor. They support 8Kp30 and 4Kp240 video recording, along with 10-bit 4:2:2 recording and ACES color management for vibrant video output.

The X500 Pro runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset and features a 6.36-inch OLED display, while the Pro Max boasts a larger 6.85-inch screen. Both displays have a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

The base model, X500, offers notable features as well, including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens.

The Vivo X500 Series is currently available in China, with prices beginning at CNY 5,499 for the X500, and CNY 6,499 and CNY 6,999 for the X500 Pro and Pro Max, respectively. This translates to approximately $820, $970, and $1,045. A global release is expected to follow soon.
