The TMR2531 and TMR2539 sensors are engineered to meet the strict accuracy requirements of next-generation smartphone cameras, allowing for micron-level displacement measurement in voice coil motor (VCM) modules. By doing so, they help ensure real-time correction of camera shake during both photo and video capture. The sensors utilize a Wheatstone full-bridge configuration with four high-signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) TMR elements to measure Z-axis magnetic field amplitude.
Key specifications include a ±1000 Gauss linear range for the TMR2531 and an extended ±1500 Gauss linear range for the TMR2539. Both sensors provide immunity to in-plane magnetic fields with a shielding capability of ±3000 Gauss to maintain stable operation in environments prone to interference. They operate on a wide supply voltage range from 1.0V to 5.5V and are housed in an ultra-compact DFN4L package measuring 0.8 × 0.5 × 0.25 mm, making them suitable for space-limited VCM designs.
The growing popularity of periscope-style telephoto lenses has increased the precision needs for OIS, pushing specifications into the micron scale for improved prism positioning. MDT’s TMR sensor technology offers enhanced SNR, expansive linear measurement ranges, and strong resistance to magnetic interference, positioning it as a valuable addition to advanced camera autofocus (AF) and OIS systems in flagship smartphones.
The TMR2531 and TMR2539 enhance MDT’s existing AF TMR sensor series, TMR4101 and TMR301X, creating a comprehensive suite of TMR-based solutions for smartphone AF and OIS needs. MDT's sensors are designed, fabricated, packaged, and tested in the company's vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, China, which supports an annual production capacity of billions of units to satisfy the demands of the global consumer electronics market.
In addition to the new sensors, MDT is showcasing its latest gaming controllers and keyboards that incorporate its linear and angular TMR sensors, as well as the recently launched TMR8105 picoTesla weak magnetic field detector, the HF2905 1.6MHz wide-band TMR current probe, and TMR rotary encoder solutions for applications in humanoid robotics.
