Apple Promotes iOS 27 Update for iPhone Users on iOS 26

Starting today, iPhone users still operating on iOS 26 will notice that iOS 27.0.1 is now highlighted in the Settings app under General → Software Update, while iOS 26.7.1 has been moved to a less prominent "Also Available" section at the bottom.

Released on September 14, iOS 27 had previously appeared alongside later versions in the lower section. This change signals Apple's effort to encourage users on iOS 26 to transition to iOS 27.

While Apple is not mandating the installation of iOS 27, it does recommend that users install at least iOS 26.7.1 to benefit from the latest security updates.

Apple has not yet disclosed the adoption rates for iOS 27.
