Jim Johnson, Intel's senior vice president, stated that the Series 3 focuses on enhancing power efficiency, boosting CPU performance, and featuring a significant GPU along with improved AI capabilities and consistent app compatibility with x86 architecture.
The Series 3 will encompass a range of chips, including edge processors designed for embedded and industrial applications, as well as non-Ultra Core processors for entry-level PCs. At the high end, Intel plans to launch the Core Ultra X9 and X7 processors that will offer enhanced Arc graphics intended for demanding tasks such as gaming, content creation, and productivity.
Intel anticipates substantial performance and efficiency improvements with these processors. The top-tier models are expected to deliver 60 percent better multithreaded performance, 77 percent faster gaming performance, a 50 TOPS neural processing unit, and battery life that can extend up to 27 hours.
According to Intel, the first PCs equipped with the Core Ultra Series 3 processors will be available starting January 27. A preview of one of these PCs has indicated performance improvements, although reliability issues have been noted.
