Apple's iPhone Duo Sparks Renewed Interest Among Users

While I recognized that Android manufacturers like Samsung were leading in hardware innovation with foldable phones, I wasn't ready to invest $2,100 in one. After using the iPhone since the 11 model, I was ready for a change and found satisfaction with my Galaxy S25 Ultra following the switch. Despite some Android quirks and ongoing adjustments by Google, I didn’t miss my iPhone and was content with my decision to leave Apple.

I'm fascinated by the concept of folding phones, but their practical execution had not won me over. Issues such as the visible crease and durability concerns made me hesitant. Improvements in devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 indicated progress in the folding phone market, making me curious about what Apple might offer with the new iPhone Duo.

The iPhone Duo's innovative design has piqued my interest, although I remain cautious about its durability and the crease's potential annoyance. For the first time in years, it seems Apple is attempting something bold again, contrasting with the stagnation I perceived in previous iPhone models, including the iPhone 14 and the newer iPhone 18.

The iPhone Duo presents some drawbacks, such as the absence of Face ID—a feature long associated with iPhones—but on the whole, it represents a return to form for Apple. I recall when each new iPhone felt like a significant evolution. While the iPhone 18 still retains that spirit, the addition of the Duo suggests Apple may be rediscovering its innovative edge.

It's important to note that Apple isn’t necessarily leading in innovation; instead, it seems to be adapting successful ideas from other companies while applying its unique take. As Apple enters the foldable market, I’m excited to see how it shapes its future products.
