NASA Astronaut Observes Milky Way from International Space Station

NASA astronaut Jessica Meir recently shared stunning images taken from the International Space Station (ISS) that showcase the Milky Way and other phenomena above Earth. On September 16, she posted her thoughts on Twitter, stating, "Southern Hemisphere Milky Way galaxy view from the Space Station cupola."

Meir captured a three-second exposure that reveals the dense Milky Way galaxy as seen from the Southern Hemisphere. Her images also highlighted the vibrant lights of squid fishing boats, visible off the coasts of China, Thailand, and India, with bright blue and green hues. She remarked on the beauty of the light captured in her photos.
