SpaceX Plans Two Rocket Launches from California This Week

SpaceX is preparing for two rocket launches from its facility at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California this week. The first launch, a classified mission for the U.S. Space Force, is set for Tuesday, September 15. The second launch will occur on Saturday, September 19, and will involve deploying 27 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit.

Both missions will utilize the Falcon 9 rocket, which is 230 feet tall and capable of carrying over 50,000 pounds of cargo. After each launch, the boosters are expected to land on the SpaceX drone ship, "Of Course I Still Love You," located in the Pacific Ocean.

For the classified mission, detailed information is limited. The launch window is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. PT on Tuesday. The Starlink deployment mission will take place between 6:47 and 10:47 p.m. PT on Saturday.
