According to Weibo tipster @FixedFocus, several companies, including Huawei, Honor, and Xiaomi, are planning to implement double-layer coating battery technology. This innovation aims to increase cell capacities beyond 10,000mAh, with devices like the Huawei Enjoy 100 anticipated to feature this technology.
Double-layer coating battery technology involves applying electrode materials in two distinct layers rather than one, which optimizes performance in several ways: it offers higher energy density, allows for faster charging, and prolongs battery life. The bottom layer provides stable capacity with high-compaction density, while the top layer enables rapid lithium-ion movement to enhance charging speeds.
This structural design can improve both the charging performance and durability of smartphones, as well as enhance safety by addressing thermal management issues.
Currently, both Huawei and Honor are in discussions about developing battery packs exceeding 10,000mAh for their future devices. It remains to be seen which brand will be the first to launch a smartphone with this higher battery capacity in the market.
