Ron Birk, president of the American Astronautical Society, noted the rapid growth in the space sector, stating, "The whole space enterprise is burgeoning, expanding, and evolving at unprecedented rates." He mentioned that there are over 10,000 space companies worldwide, including more than 5,000 in the United States.
Private space ventures have played a crucial role in advancing the U.S. space agenda, particularly through collaborations that support NASA’s Artemis missions. The recent milestone of completing Artemis II exemplifies this partnership.
Rickey Shyne, Director of Research and Engineering at NASA’s Glenn Research Center, expressed satisfaction with the public's response to Artemis II. He remarked on the collective effort leading to a successful mission, calling it "a flawless mission."
Shyne emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private and public sectors in promoting aerospace development, stating, "Whenever we can leverage resources, whether they are subject matter experts or test facilities, it’s a win-win for everyone."
