The announcement follows four years of collaboration between the two companies, highlighted by WISeSat's investment in FOSSA Systems. This partnership focuses on integrating post-quantum security, hardware roots of trust, and digital identity into durable satellite platforms, using FOSSA’s expertise in satellite engineering alongside WISeSat’s secure space infrastructure strategy.

During the announcement, they showcased images captured from a WISeSat spacecraft, including a view of WISeSat.Space's headquarters. QSOC aims to secure the space infrastructure within a trusted security perimeter, merging hardware protection, authenticated digital identities, quantum-resilient cryptography, and effective key management with high-performance symmetric encryption.

The implementation of hardware roots of trust will protect cryptographic keys and ensure verification of devices and software. Digital identities will allow authentication for satellites, ground stations, and connected endpoints, while post-quantum cryptography will enhance key establishment and digital signatures against potential threats from quantum computing.

The upcoming launch series will feature a modular constellation architecture, allowing further integration of satellites, security capabilities, and services. QSOC is designed to support hybrid constellations that combine dedicated WISeSat satellites with partner-operated space assets and terrestrial networks in a unified trust framework. This initiative aims to provide governments, enterprises, and critical infrastructure operators greater oversight of digital identities, cryptographic keys, data access, and service governance.

The long-term goal is to create a decentralized orbital infrastructure that supports secure Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity, trusted data exchange, and resilient communications applicable for both sovereign and commercial needs. Carlos Moreira, Founder and CEO of WISeSat.Space, emphasized that the collaboration with FOSSA Systems has laid the foundation for trusted space infrastructure. The launch in October will further the QSOC roadmap, progressively integrating security technologies into orbit.

FOSSA Systems specializes in small-satellite development and operations, providing vital space infrastructure for communications. WISeSat.Space focuses on secure satellite communications, integrating cybersecurity and digital identity technologies to enhance connectivity between devices and ground systems.
