Mobi is recognized as the world's smallest and most durable automated insulin delivery system. The San Diego-based company previously received FDA approval for the Android version of its Mobi mobile app in November and initially offered integration only with iOS devices. Following a limited rollout, the full launch is now underway.

John Sheridan, president and CEO of Tandem, stated, “By expanding to Android, we’re broadening our reach to bring the benefits of Tandem Mobi to even more people living with diabetes. It’s an exciting milestone that underscores our commitment to delivering choice in diabetes technology.”

The Mobi system launched in the U.S. in February 2024 after receiving FDA clearance for individuals with diabetes aged six and older in July 2023. The product later gained expanded clearance for pediatric use in April 2024 and received a CE mark in May 2025.

Mobi features a 200-unit insulin cartridge and includes an on-pump button for insulin boluses, making it convenient for users. It is notably less than half the size of the flagship Tandem t:slim X2 pump, capable of fitting in a coin pocket or being clipped to clothing with an adhesive sleeve.

The device utilizes the next-generation Control-IQ+ predictive algorithm, which aims to prevent high and low blood sugar levels and improve time in range throughout the day and night.

The Mobi app, which is designed for ease of use and security, is now available for download from Google Play and supports several smartphone models, including Google Pixel models 6 through 10 and Samsung Galaxy models S21 through S25.
