Apple Releases iOS 26.7 and iOS 27 with Security Fixes

Apple has released iOS 26.7, an update to the existing iOS 26 software, alongside iOS 27. Users can find iOS 26.7 as the default update when checking for new software, while iOS 27 is listed as an option at the bottom of the Software Update section.

According to Apple’s release notes, iOS 26.7 contains security fixes but introduces no new features. Users who prefer to remain on the iOS 26 version can choose to install iOS 26.7 instead of upgrading to iOS 27.

Both iOS 27 and iOS 26.7 are compatible with the same iPhone models that support iOS 26.

The iOS 27 update addresses over 100 security vulnerabilities, making it advisable to install. However, for those not ready to upgrade, iOS 26.7 includes more than 80 security fixes, with 75 fixes shared between both updates. Notably, multiple kernel vulnerabilities were addressed, including one that could enable a malicious actor to exploit the system.
